"12th Annual East Tennessee Dance Sport Showdown” Competition 2021

Congratulations to our amazing Daza Dance Pro-Am Team, Instructor Maximiliano Panesi and Student Heidi Braniff for their show-stopping success at the “12th Annual East Tennessee Dance Sport Showdown” Competition held at the modish Crown Plaza Hotel in Downtown Knoxville.

This exciting regional event drawed Students, Coaches and Professionals from all over the South Eastern United States to give their all on the dance floor and rise to the top.

Thank you to the organizers, Sam, and Brandon Gordon, Kisa Abbott, and our dear friend Tamsyn Devilliers for welcoming us with open arms, while making us feel so special at your fabulous event. We had an absolute blast meeting, connecting, and enjoying the joy of dancing with your sweet and friendly community of dancers, and of course, experiencing true Southern Hospitality. It certainly was an unforgettable experience!

When thinking of Heidi and Maxi, the Olympic Motto Situs, Altius, Fortius - which means Faster, Higher, and Stronger - comes to mind. Like Olympic Champions the ballroom became a display of their mastery and precision. Out of the116 entries they danced, they placed first place 1st on all of them and Maxi was awarded top 3 Teacher overall.

Maxi’s award reflects his dedication and overall support to every detail: from dancing to styling, to administrative details; it is always amazing to see him ensuring that every detail comes together at the end in such a profound way.

Maxi and Heidi’s many nights spent rehearsing and getting coached led to the thrill of victory on the dance floor; what an amazing story of goal setting, hard-work, and success…We are so proud of you two!

Thank you everyone who directly or indirectly made this weekend such a wonderful experience. Thank you, to our amazing Daza Dance community for always being there supporting our dream. This was truly an unforgettable experience. The Daza Dance Family continues to move forward, pivoting to meet the challenges presented in ever changing times and encouraging everyone to follow their dreams.

Thanks also to Mario, our wonderful dance instructor and Studio manager for joining the group and going along with the rest of the Daza Dance Team to support, encourage, and assist in making this experience even more special.

In addition, thank you to Martha Fernandez Borrero for your all your love and for coming to show support at the competition. Your encouraging presence was such a joy.

Finally thank you Antonio Daza, you are the foundation upon which Daza Dance flourishes support. Your commitment to the dream of a better world using dance as a focal point of unity Is a foundation that helps everyone make their dancing dreams come true.

We look forward to many more dance dreams becoming reality. Once again: Congratulations Heidi and Maxi… Way to go Team. Enjoy this amazing and well-deserved sense of accomplishment!

The Daza Dance Team!
