MARIO RECOBA'S 2020 REFLECTION

Good Morning!

This week Mario shares his personal reflection about this difficult and yet, interesting year for the entire world.

During 2020 we had to deal with unprecedented natural disasters, the social-economic debacle plus the never-ending political issues… and of course the COVID-19 pandemic.

We were forced to close our studio for a couple of months and canceled all the events that we had planned for the year… In all honesty we were very unsure about the future would hold for our studio and our community.

During the lock down we were able to stay virtually connected with our community through our weekly “twinkle time” meetings, thanks to the input and motivation of our students Bonnie Emerson and Jackie Levi. They helped us to organize the meetings, so we can not only have a good time, connect with everyone the “same” way we were doing it in person, but also to provide a space where we all could be uplifted and loved during such trying times.

After a couple of months, we reopen and implemented new protocols to make sure our community had a more-than-ever safe, healthy, and positive environment where to escape from in an upside-down world.

In addition, for those students who were not able to come to our studio in person, we created a unique and personalized online program to help them improve their dance skills, and of course, still enjoying the physical, mental, and social benefits of ballroom dance.

“…it is because those benefits as well as the love and support of our Daza Dance community that today we feel stronger and more united than ever…”, says Mario. Thus, thank you so much to each person who directly or indirectly cared and supported our dream.

From all of us here at Daza Dance, we hope you all stay safe, healthy, and positive during these last few weeks of 2020. We cannot wait to share with each of you all the wonderful plans we have for the new year. We are looking forward to seeing you in 2021!
