I need to get back into strength and endurance training,
which has been a slapstick comedy routine all around. I went to a “beginning” yoga class once;
as I was winding myself into a pretzel the teacher came over to adjust me and I
fell over. I love barre classes which combine yoga, Pilates and ballet. During
the class there is an exercise ball hold to in the back of your knees while
doing certain stretches. I usually spend part of the classes chasing the ball
across the floor -one of the instructors laughed and said “wooo! Cardio!” one
time I even hit another classmate in the head with the ball! (Ha-ha.
Oops!) In spite of the comedy
these classes are great for core strength, When I first started I could not do
planks now I can hold my own for several seconds.
Today I couldn’t help but daydream about competing, but for
me the only person I will be competing against will be myself. I am three
months away from the competition and nerves and excitement have started to set
in. What once seemed so far away will be here in the
blink of an eye.
