The Mini Match is a "competition" where students compete only against themselves and receive a proficiency grading score. In addition, participants showcase everything they have learned during their private lessons and receive written and verbal feedback from our qualified judges - Kyle Larsen and Tamsyn Devilliers - to take their dancing to the next level.
Our Daza Dance Team: Antonio Daza, Mario Recoba, and Teresa Dushner, wore all the hats, creatively and administratively, to ensure a successful event. Antonio was the MC, and Teresa served as the scorekeeper. It was Teresa's first time dancing as a professional dance instructor at the Mini Match. Mario and Maxi were extraordinary in preparing each student to dance their best on the floor, and they danced over 500 times throughout the day.
We were so excited to see our students Maria Natal, Donn and Carole Chambers, Bernadine Veal-Wanha, Gail Hardwick, and Lauren Layton make their Mini Match debut. A student's first performance with their instructor is an unforgettable experience that will be cherished for the rest of their lives.
Also thrilling was to experience the growth of our students since the last Mini Match in 2022: Shelly Gleason, Tatiana Carpenter, Erin Moran, Mariella Volio, Regina Davis-Roberson, Candi Howington, Colet Falvey, Colin Houlder, Faith Proper, Jehan Haddadin, Julie Jacobson, Trinity Jordan, Paula Silva, and Katy Powell did a beautiful job. They have grown much, displaying great technique, joy, and excitement every time they step on the dance floor.
The Mini Match was the perfect time to build our community, accomplish our goals, and celebrate the victories of every student by doing what we love the most: Dancing!
