Today I
am thinking of the song “The Heat is On” from the movie Beverly Hills Cop with
Eddie Murphy. I could easily be filming the opening credits for the film where
people are doing anything and everything to stay cool in the heat of
summer. The heat is on indeed also
feeling the "heat" of as pressure. The closer it gets to my
departure date the more nervous and anxious I am getting -at the same time I am
feeling a happiness that can't be contained.
When I reach the ballroom today Maxi is
hard at work teaching and gives me a hug I also greet Masha. After downing a
couple of waters and catching my breath I start with Tango. I love the attitude
of Tango- I would get so into the mood when first learning Tango that I would
knock Antonio off balance! I have since learned to show the emotions while
maintaining my form. Next I am back to work on my Foxtrot Promenade turns, and
with Waltz I am back working on progressives. As I go through Rhythm dances I get winded
with the East Coast Swing, I am trying to keep up with Maxi’s class who are
dancing to Blondie’s “Call Me” I definitely need to do more core work on my abs
to help sustain longer. I am loving the Cha- Cha more and more and having a
great time. After finishing Salsa and Rumba realization is setting in and my
excitement is building -soon I will be bouncing off the
walls even more than I usually am!
