LIFE IS A GIFT

Antonio and I talked for a few minutes before class today about how precious life is, and the urgency to make every moment count. I was saddened as I thought about people I loved who passed away with dreams unfulfilled. The conversation continued about how nothing is promised and how we must truly live while we have the gift of life.

We started the class warming up with Rumba, Cha-cha and swing. My spirits start to lift as I immerse myself in the dances. I’m really feeling the cha-cha today. When we got to choreography Antonio seemed impressed that I could remember and execute every step I knew. As we started closing in the final dance movements I had to run to the other side of the ballroom to perfect my footwork, and then incorporate that in a move similar to a cha-cha. I was turning to all kinds of angles, doing chicken walks and adjusting my spine. We finally get to the end of the dancing part of the choreography and my head is spinning! I hope I can remember everything I just learned -I am really beginning to get excited. A.s I continue to move forward I will remember to not just live but be alive every moment.
