I FEEL PRETTY

Today I was in deep thought as I walked to the studio. There was a slight chill in the air- the wind was blowing fiercely and the sky was clear blue. When I reach the studio Showcase routines were going full steam ahead. Everyone is so excited I am loving watching Maxi and Callie who have become a dynamic duo. I am enjoying seeing the variety of dances that will be performed.

Antonio and I warmed up to smooth dances today.  We started with Foxtrot and I felt crazy confident- even when he threw in some new steps. With the Tango I felt sure of the movements, but I couldn’t keep my Tango face to save my life – I kept bursting into laughter. I got in my head and was stumbling through part of the waltz, but when I relaxed I surprised myself. 

When we got to the choreography I started to feel the fun in the routine. I laughed so hard through many spontaneous moments. In between rehearsing we sang show tunes, I got really excited but am still struggling with those last few counts.

When I finished rehearsal Antonio told me to wait for a few moments. Callie let me try two of her beautiful Latin gowns to look as styles for Argentina. I tried a red one and a yellow one, the yellow one was pretty but way too big; Callie had to help me hold the straps or there was going to be a wardrobe malfunction right there in the studio! When I tried on the red one I almost didn’t recognize myself and I was getting compliments from everywhere; I felt truly beautiful and almost started welling up with tears. I said yes to my Latin Dress!!!
