At
approximately 3:46 AM I woke up feeling overwhelmed. Looking at my fundraising
goal of 10,000 and where I am today, a little over 1500 I started to get
restless. The phrase new beginnings was in my mind so I began to research the
scriptures in the Bible and came across the verse:
Do not despise these small beginnings, for
the Lord rejoices to see the work begin (Zechariah 4:10 A)
Wow!!! Those were the exact words I needed. I took this to
mean I should continue to work towards my goal without being discouraged. As I continued to think about the
scripture throughout the day I changed my thoughts of anxiety to thoughts of
gratitude. Thinking of reasons to be grateful made me be
filled with hope.
My current fundraiser is an Etsy page with handmade greeting
cards. I have uploaded my pictures to the website and am now writing
descriptions and researching shipping options. It is taking longer than I
thought to get things prepared but I am steadily moving forward one day at a
time.
As I move towards Argentina I am growing in faith, courage,
and patience. This year is much more than moving towards a destination, it’s
about personal transformation and hopefully encouraging others along the way.
